Goals: With a regional, national and international presence and involvement, Transilvania IT Cluster positions itself at the intersection between entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators and public administration, driving discussions and actions around digital transformation and improving community development through digitalization. Who is part of Transilvania IT Cluster? More than 150 companies from the field of innovation, digitalization and technology with a total of over 8,000 employees and 20 supporting organisations, public administration and universities. Transilvania IT Cluster is also the orchestrator of Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), the first fully operational digital innovation hub in Romania designated by the European Commission, offering services to accelerate digitalisation in the region.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Transilvania IT Cluster actively engages with various EU legislative proposals and policies aimed at fostering digital innovation, regional development, and technological advancement. Our efforts are focused on influencing the formulation and implementation of policies that drive innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth within the European Union: -digital transformation: advocating for policies that promote digitalization across sectors, including initiatives aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure, fostering digital skills development, and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies. -regional collaboration: supporting policies that facilitate regional collaboration and cross-border cooperation to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and promote sustainable economic development in transylvania and beyond. -entrepreneurship and smes: engaging with legislative proposals that support the growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) through innovation-friendly regulations, access to funding, and support programs. -research and innovation: contributing to initiatives that promote research and innovation excellence, facilitate technology transfer, and enhance the participation of smes and startups in eu-funded research and innovation programs. -digital single market: advocating for the completion of the digital single market and the removal of barriers to cross-border trade, digital services, and e-commerce, thereby fostering a competitive and inclusive digital economy in europe. -data protection and privacy: supporting legislative efforts to safeguard data protection rights, enhance privacy standards, and promote trust in digital technologies, in line with eu data protection regulations and standards. ex. Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe Framework Programme, European Green Deal, Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Markets Act (DMA), European Data Strategy, European Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), European Cloud Initiative, NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan, SME Strategy for a Sustainable and Digital Europe, European Skills Agenda for Sustainable Competitiveness, The European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, European Strategy for Data, Single Market Strategy and any others related to the following areas of focus
Communication Activities: Transilvania IT Cluster implemented over the years a number of projects that were centered around the upskilling and reskilling of employees, as well as projects regarding digitalization and the future of work. In partnership with various stakeholders, the organization held a series of events meant to support the local ecosystem, events such as the Transylvanian Clusters International Conference, Cluj Innovation Camp, Startup Europe Summit, matchmaking sessions and international economic missions that revolved around companies and the needs of the community.
