Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Our organisation tries to influence in the definition and implementation of some specific EU policies that are connected with the purposes of our entity (defence of the quality of democracty, respect of fundamental rights, grant or the rule of law, fight against discrimination, fight against hate speech, integration of most vulnerable people and improvement of the quality of the administration and the public policies. This EU policies that are connected with the purposes of our organization are the following: - Upholding the rule of law - International human rights - Combating discrimination - EU Citizenship - School policy We are focused in the defence of the rule of law and fundamental rights. We think that all EU citizens deserve the respect of their fundamental rights and the rule of law. We think that the EU has competence for the guarantee of the rule of law in all the member States and that it is important to take decisive steps for the guarantee of the fundamental rights in all the EU. Our purpose is to encourage the EU institutions to take actions for the promotion ande defence of the fundamental righst and the ruel of law, to fight againts discrimination and to make easier the freedom of establishment of the EU citizens and their families in any member State.
Communication Activities: We will try to influence in the EU institutions by sending reports, maintaining contact with officials and representatives, to sharing our experience and information with the EU bodies and organising or taking part in meetings, seminars or work groups. One of our first purposes is to meet representatives of the political groups in the European Parliament and officials of the relevant DGs (Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, Justice and Consumers, Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and Joint Research Center). We will also share information and reports with the persons working in the areas related with our purposes. In particular, we want to influence in any report of the EU related wiht the rule of law, the guarantee of fundamental rights and the fight agains discrimination. During the last year, due to the pandemia, we have contacted mainly through mail and videoconference; specifically witn the MP Maite Pagazaurtundúa and her staff. We have also share reports and other documents wiht other MPs and also took part in consultations launched by the European Commission

Info Members: Members of Impulso Ciudadano are volunteers and they do not obtain any compensation for their activities at the entity, that is fully compatible with their professional activity. The association has a directive board of 14 members. 6 of these members are going to be directly involved in the activities connected with the registration (President, Vicepresidents (2), Secretary and two other members of the board who work mainly in the fields covered by the activities we want to develop through the registration. There is only one person working for the association, but just 20 hours per week, and only a part of her time is devoted to the activities described in point 9. Our only expenses will be those linked to our trips to Bruxelles in order to have meetings with representatives or officials.

Is Member Of: Impulso Ciudadano is now member of "Escuela de Todos", a platform created by 15 non-governmental entities that have as a goal that every school in Catalonia offers at least 25% of the teaching hours in Spanish, the mother tongue of more than 50% of the students in Catalonia. As member of the platform, Impulso Ciudadano is strongly involved in the defense of the rule of law, the necessity that public power acts within the framework of the law and that judicial decisions should be obeyed
