Main EU Legislative Proposals: The monitoring of possible trade and investment agreements between EU and ASEAN countries in particular the ongoing trade negotiations with Indonesia (CEPA) and the soon to be resumed FTA negotiations with Thailand to which ASEANChamEU hopes to contribute ASEAN business viewpoints in Brussels. Intending to advocate also for a resumption of the EU-Philippines FTA negotiations and represent Philippine business viewpoints to relevant EU stakeholders.
Also tracking the effect on ASEAN businesses of EU legislation in the following areas;
Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
Deforestation Regulation
Forced Labour Regulation
Mandatory Supply Chain Due Diligence/CSDDD
and making known the business impact on ASEAN businesses of these and further EU legislative instruments in the Green/Climate/Sustainability area.
Communication Activities: Webinars planned for 2024 and beyond on trade relations and EU climate instruments and sustainability agenda as it affects ASEAN.
