Goals: Araminta’s work focuses on three core objectives: To defend, protect and advocate for the interests of threatened HRDs and activists in order to enable the continuation of their work and safeguard their communities. To facilitate the implementation of human rights projects in repressive environments by providing logistical, operational, and programmatic support within Araminta’s areas of expertise. To promote corporate accountability and the effectiveness of new legislation by contracting with HRDs and human rights experts for the provision of mandatory human rights due diligence consulting.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Araminta’s EU advocacy priority focuses on the adoption of recommendations that were published in January 2024 in the study "Enhancing the Protection of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs): Facilitating Access to the EU and supporting HRDs from third countries" commissioned by the Policy Department for External Relations Directorate-General for External Policies of the Union.

Communication Activities: Araminta is co-organising the EUTRP (EU Temporary Relocation Platform of ProtectDefenders.eu) Annual meeting this year as well as a panel during the CRD bi-annual conference to create a strong movement of supporters among HRDs for stronger voice and advocacy of the EU HRD Visa.
