Goals: Founded in 2016, Animal Law Italia (ALI) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Italy committed to bringing together lawyers and scholars already contributing to the progress of legal protection for animals in Europe. Our aspiration is to strengthen the development of more comprehensive and effective laws and achieve better enforcement of existing animal protection laws in Italy and throughout Europe.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Animals in Agriculture (Common Agricultural Policy, Transport Policy, EU's competence in public health) Animals in science (Research Policy) Wild animals (Environmental and Climate policies) International and Trade Law (Trade Policy)
Communication Activities: ALI is supporting the #EUForAnimals campaign (www.euforanimals.eu) and is helping pursuing the results of the "End the Cage Age" ((www.endthecageage.eu) European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) both at EU and national level. ALI has also helped collect signatures for the "Fur Free Europe" ECI. ALI has published in April 202 a report on ritual slaughter without stunning, through a comprehensive analysis of EU and national legislation, as well as the latest of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
