Mission & Interests

Goals: Americans for Democracy and Human Rights (ADHRB) is committed to the defense and promotion of Human Rights in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. We document and highlight human rights violations and seek different international mechanisms to advocate for defending rights and ending culture of impunity. Our vision is a world in which every individual can enjoy their human rights as guaranteed in the international conventions and covenants, without discrimination related to gender, religion, origin, or political beliefs. Through strong advocacy and engagement with governments and international organizations, ADHRB promotes the respect, protection, and fulfilment of human rights within the GCC countries.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: We target EU legislation concerning the Arab Gulf, in particular human rights resolutions on Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman. Our recent work has focused on the 2021 human rights resolutions concerning Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, and the 2022 human rights resolution concerning Bahrain.
