Goals: Allied for Startups is the policy voice of startups in the EU and worldwide. The organisation seeks to promote entrepreneurship and startups in industry and commerce, and to advance education and science by encouraging and growing entrepreneurship, and in particular digital entrepreneurship. The organisation works on a global network basis whereby its members are themselves regional and national trade associations, charities and not for profit organisations representing and supporting startups, entrepreneurs, investors, charities, and advocacy organisations. Communication Activities: The organisation seeks to establish contact between the startup community and policy makers in the European institutions as well as relevant bodies and agencies. Further, it seeks to serve as a reliable source for policy makers to receive information about startups and digital entrepreneurship, to this extent the organisation is involved in events and other public activities. We connect our members to EU institutions using a variety of methods, from events, in-person and online engagement to work with the press, newsletters and social media. Is Member Of: 1. Membership is limited to non-government affiliated, non-profit, startup organisations with clear mandate from startups. This is the core of our structure as they will exclusively vote on our Mandate, policy priorities and run and vote for leadership (the Allied for Startups Management Board, known officially as the continental council “conseil continental”). They must follow the following guidelines: Organisations with direct engagement with startups. Legitimate organisations. Organisations that align with our values (which are available to view on our website). Organisations that are in line with their national government regulations. Organisations with transparent governance structures. Our Affiliate Members: - Tech Barcelona - Beta-i - EsTech Corporate Board: All for-profit companies and non-governmental organisations (...) may be members of the Corporate Board. The term of office for members is 12 months, renewable upon appointment by the Board of Directors. The Corporate Board agrees to sponsor and support the Association in financial or in-kind priorities for a given geographical region. Each member of the Corporate Board has the same status.
