Mission & Interests

Goals: Agroecology Europe is an international non-profit organization and is registered in accordance with the Belgian law from which it derives all rights as a legal entity. Agroecology Europe was created on the 27th of January 2016 in, Belgium and counts today some 150 Members, of which NGOs, Universities, students, PHD students, individual persons, etc. It has a non-profit, European and international goal and is independent from any political or commercial interest. Agroecology Europe aims to analyse, design, develop and promote the transition towards agroecology-based farming and food systems in Europe and throughout the world. It intends to place agroecology high on the European agenda of sustainable development of farming and food systems. It intends to foster interactions between actors in science, practice and social movements, by facilitating knowledge sharing and action. Communication Activities: Agroecology Europe organises a variety of events such as the Agroecology Europe Forum, the Agroecology Youth Forum, policy workshops with members, NGOs and EU decision-makers, participatory workshops for Young Europeans, the Month of Agroecology (online activities), field visits for EU decision-makers and scientists. Thorought the year, Agroecology Europe communicates and promotes agroecology across Europe via its social media accounts: twitter, facebook, linkedin and youtube but also via newsletters, press releases, position papers, factsheets, webinars, activity reports and on its website: www.agroecology-europe.org. Agroecology Europe works with several NGOs and institutes, such as PAN Europe, IFOAM, ARC2020, ISARA, SSSA, IDDRI, IPES-FOOD, INRA, Wageningen University, Coventry University, Agroekologiki, University of Brussels, the Club of Rome-EU Chapter, the FAO, Revolve, Fondation Biovision, Fondation de France, Fondation Ecotone, European Environmental Bureau, Greenpeace, WWF, European Coordination Via Campesina,Together and participates in multiple campaigns and alliances such as the food policy coalition, etc.
