Mission & Interests
Goals: Aggregates Europe - UEPG represents aggregates producers supplying sand, gravel, crushed rock, marine aggregates, manufactured and recycled aggregates. We promote the profile of the European Aggregates Industry and is the voice of its members in 25 countries. The Industry responds to the demand of 3 billion tonnes per year, comprises some 15,000 companies (mostly SMEs), producing at 26,000 sites involving 187,000 employees (including contractors). Our vision is a Sustainable Industry for a Sustainable Europe. Being a local industry, the Aggregates Industry produces in Europe, for Europe. Since 1987, Aggregates Europe - UEPG has promoted the interests of aggregates producers by representing its National Member Associations on environmental and health & safety, economic and technical policy. The European Aggregates Industry produces primary and secondary raw materials, contributes to biodiversity during and after extraction and offers increasingly areas producing renewable energy.

Organisation Members: Aggregates Europe - UEPG is a Social Dialogue Partner, signatory party of the Social Agreement on Respirable Crystalline Silica (NePSi) Member of the European Commission’s Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for the Extractive Industry (SSDCEI) and is part of the Standing Working Party for the Mining and Other Extractive Industries (SWPEI). UEPG is partner of the Non Energy Extractive Industry Panel (NEEIP), associate member of Construction Products Europe (CPE), liaison member of CEN/TC 151 - Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety, Members of the European Commission Business@Biodiversity Platform. UEPG supports the European Minerals Day (EMD), the Concrete Initiative and the project Asphalt Advantages. Aggregates Europe - UEPG is closely cooperating with academia and research institutes and a Consortium partner in the Horizon 2020 project SUMEX. UEPG is frequently participating in the EC Machinery Working Group, ADCO Working Group on Earth moving machines, EC Explosives for civil uses Working Group, EC Raw Material Supply Group and EC Sustainable Use of Natural Resources Thematic Group, the CGBN and NADEG. Aggregates Europe - UEPG is a signatory and active partner of the Coalition Industry4Europe calling for an ambitious industrial strategy for Europe; a partner in the Construction2050Alliance and in the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA).
