Goals: The African Wildlife Foundation’s (AWF) vision is of an Africa where sustainable development includes thriving wildlife and wild lands as a cultural and economic asset for Africa’s future generations. AWF’s mission is to ensure that wildlife and wild lands thrive in modern Africa. AWF’s approach is to engage and support leadership at all levels in their efforts to stabilize Africa’s wildlife habitats, protect wildlife and wild lands, eliminate illegal wildlife trade, and ensure the development of Africa is inclusive and green.
AWF’s Ten Year Conservation Goals (2020-2030):
Goal 1: Enhance effectiveness and prominence of African conservation practitioners and elevate environmental and conservation issues to national, continental and international priority.
Goal 2: Reduce habitat loss through improved planning, monitoring and supportive economic investment.
Goal 3: Conserve Africa’s wildlife in-situ, and reduce poaching and trafficking as major causes of wildlife decline.
