Mission & Interests
Goals: AFC is a Pan-African multilateral financial institution established in 2007 through a treaty among sovereign African states. The Corporation was created to be the catalyst for private sector-led infrastructure investment across Africa by proactively developing, financing, acquiring, and managing infrastructure, natural resources, and industrial assets to promote sustained economic growth on the Continent.
AFC operates in 5 key sectors: power, natural resources, transport & logistics, heavy industry and telecoms. To date, the Corporation has mobilized about US$13.5BN across 37 African countries; and have maintained an A3 investment-grade rating from Moody’s Investors Service for nine consecutive years. This ranks us as the second highest investment-grade rated multilateral financial institution in Africa. AFC currently has 42 member states.
