About the project:
The global project “Knowledge and Policy Coherence for Nutrition” (KPCN), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Commission (EC), supports partner countries and stakeholders in developing and implementing effective nutrition policies. The goal is the long-term strengthening and political anchoring of measures at the national, regional, and global levels. The project works closely with the “Scaling Up Nutrition” (SUN) movement. With a focus on Africa and Asia, KPCN collaborates closely with SUN member countries. The private sector plays a crucial role in achieving long-term improvements in nutrition in partner countries. As part of KPCN, you will support the Finance Manager and Project Management in all financial and administrative tasks to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
For our office in Brussels we are looking for a controller (m/f/d).
Your key responsibilities:
- Planning and management of annual cash allocations, costs, receivables, and commitments, as well as the financial and administrative support of predecessor projects;
- Conducting calculations and preparing the financial inputs of proposals for co-financing, change offers, follow-up phases, and ensuring all commercial requirements are met;
- Preparing financial reports (cost-per-output monitoring and forecasting as well as reporting to other external donors), responding to internal financial inquiries, and commercial programme closures – In collaboration with the Finance Manager, p
- Optimization of commercial and administrative processes, comprehensive preparation, support, and monitoring of service contracts, grant and financing agreements, local subsidies, as well as procurement processes, in collaboration with central organizational units and contracting departments;
- Professional advice to the person responsible for the commission and to project staff regarding commercial decisions and contractual matters;
- Preparing for internal controls, audits, evaluations, and reviews, as well as communicating with the relevant stakeholders and contact persons;
- Managing eligibility of expenditures with the commissioning party and ensuring compliance in the execution of all commercial activities and procedures;
- Budgetary conception, planning, and implementation of events documentation and coordination of contributions towards strategy-, concept-, and communication documents.
Your profile:
- University degree in business administration or comparable education/training;
- Several years of experience in finance, accounting and management;
- Several years of experience with GIZ and EU co-financed projects;
- Relevant experience in international organization/technical cooperation agencies is an added advantage;
- High degree of intrinsic motivation and adaptability and flexibility within a rapidly changing environment;
- Ability to work in a team with good priority management, attention to detail and organisational talent as well as a customer service orientation;
- Excellent skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Excellent English language skills (in writing, reading and speaking) and French (B2 level) are required. German language skills are an added advantage

We offer a contract from 01 September 2026 until 31 August 2029 with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200). The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience. In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
